Senior Information & Assistance (I&A)

Information and Assistance program (I & A) helps adults 55+ sustain independence through short-term intervention by providing information, and direct assistance such as interpretation, translation and clerical aid services, and supportive counseling in accessing appropriate resources and welfare programs.

In 2010, CISC helped more than 1,800 individual clients decipher complicated forms, apply for public benefits programs such as Security Supplemental Income, General Assistance, Medicaid and Medicare, Basic Health Programs, Food Assistance Programs, energy/utility assistance, senior housing, and much more.

CISC’s I & A drop-in program specializes in meeting the needs of low-income, non-English and limited-English speaking individuals and families who have difficulties in accessing resources and assistance due to language, cultural or geographical barriers.
