CISC’s Summer Learning Program launched this month to enable students to experience handson learning and fun during the summer. One of the first field trips involved bringing joy and warmth to the International House seniors. The room lit up as the kids sang “The Moon Represents My Heart,” a beloved Chinese 70s pop song. The seniors joined in, their expressions showing joy upon hearing a familiar song. “I was nervous at first to sing in public, but the elderly were listening attentively with smiling faces. It made me feel more relaxed,” one student shared. Another student proudly interpreted in Toisanese for the elders, ensuring everyone felt included. CISC appreciates the LKC Foundation for providing Summer Learning Program funding for the third consecutive year, which enables us to support the next generation.
